about

This is a book of meandering, abstract, amorphous, "experimental" instrumental/beatstrumental beats I made using drum machine, some live drum set recorded, and a handful of synthesizers that my roommate leant me in North Oakland in the late-2000s. I'm most proud of the first track, which includes guitar by my former roommate Nick Curtis, who played in bands in Vacaville, California that played with Papa Roach before they got signed. Otherwise, I don't think I'll make more music like this, it's too abstract to be accessible. But it's a hint at ways I was experimenting with electronic sound production, low-fi DIY, and it's got a spacy, lazy, Sunday-afternoon vibe that courses throughout it. I think of randomly firing neural synapses. Mine were certainly firing off all over the place at the time. If anyone out there finds any enjoyment at all in this, I'm good with that. Peace.
