I spent a good amount of time around the time I made this album in short-term bad news relationships that did not make me feel very wholesome as a human being, and I was also near the height of some of my worst addiction issues, and just felt overall kind of dirty and sleazy about life and most of these songs are a reflection of that.

A former percussionist from Iowa moved to Chicago, bought a computer, a music software, cheap drum machine and MIDI controller and started living out his dream of being a bedroom recorder singer-songrapper. It got worse as he moved to Oakland and continued to do it. He is back in Iowa now and still can't help himself. The pull to make low-fi DIY tunes is strong in this one. ... more
